Preparing for the Use of Big Data in Denmark's Waste Management Sector

In cooperation with the Danish Waste Association (Brancheforeningen Cirkulær), students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) made a report on Big Data. The project explored the challenges and opportunities associated with prospective implementations of big data analytics in Denmark's waste industry.

They focused on what initiatives must be taken by companies in order to begin implementing big data in the waste industry. Among these initiatives, companies must expand data collection on internal operations and waste per household as well as develop better data management systems, and review the practices surrounding personal data on waste.
